Memory devices

     Memory devices are the components that store data or instructions waiting to be executed by the processor, data needed by those instructions and the results of processing the data (information).  The operating system, programs and applications also stored in memory devices. Storage is sub-divided under:

  • Primary memory (volatile)
  • Secondary memory (nonvolatile)
